Paparazzi... you shot me down!

As you all know I am celebrity in my own right, I have been in the public eye all my life. It starts with my grandparents. My G-father is a DJ and has many close friends in the music industry, from The Temptations to Prince. (Quick side bar he stayed at our house back in '95, but that is a story for another time.) Also Aretha Franklin is my G-fathers 1st cousin so you can only imagine what comes from having that relation. Then there is my mother, a Chicago socialite who has a huge following on the underground circuit. Oh yes, don't let me forget she is one of the top vegan/vegetarian chiefs in the city.

I guess it was just meant to be for me to go down that same path. I must say I am use to it by
now. It is however nice to be refereed to as Daniel Squire and not my "Grandparents Grandson" or my "Mothers Kid". It is actually the other way around now and they are know as "Daniel's Grandparents" and "Daniel's Mother" which I fund to be hilarious. I have been through many things to have this happen, everything from rumors be spread to photos not in my favor but it's the price one must pay.

Now let me get to the point. I am writing this post for all my celeb hopefuls, you must know who is your friend and who is out to get you. Meaning the paparazzi, they can be a very vicious and will do whatever it takes to get a pic of you be it good but preferably bad. Try and make friends with the photogs, I have 7 of which I more than happy to pose for. You have to read their energy and watch how they interact with the crowd, but most import know who they are shooting for.

Example: I was at an event last night with a dear friend of mine, as we were heading out a photog that is on my avoid list saw me and asked to take my pic to which I said "I'm leave" and proceeded out the door. We were almost out the place but my friend stopped to but on her jacket and he followed us out and hounded us to take a pic to which I finally said okay. He then began to take pictures of us before we were ready and then once we were ready he asked for silly poses which I told him " no thank you" and " we need to go".

Once we left the building I told my friend he shoots for a gossip site and we might end up on it, but because we did not do the poses he wanted we more then like would not. I think it's funny and know that in this day and age all publicity is good publicity but you have those days when you just don't want to be bothered. It is a pain having to keep an eye open for who is out to get you but that comes with the job. As a celeb we deal with everything and always must have a smile to keep the fans happy.

End the end the best way to keep from going crazy is to keep it moving and know that at the end of the day be it good or bad, people are talking about you and that is how you stay relevant in these times. Cheers!!!!!!
