Anna Piaggi: A Walking Museum of Fashion History

The true mother of Punk Fashion Anna Piaggi fashion editor to Italian Vogue passed away on Tuesday, August 7th in her home in Italy at only 81 years young. She was know for here very over the top outfits with pieces that dated back over 200 years. Piaggi was a true believer in the art of fashion and having fun with it. She would often say " A talisman for all those around the world who believe that fashion is a way of life and that freedom of expression should manifest itself in what we wear". The Italian fashion editor was best known for her vast hat collection, she was a muse to the British milliner Stephen Jones usually sporting a one of a kind head piece. You could easily spot her on the front row during fashion week from her ornate headgear unless it was to large then she would watch the show from back stage so as to not obstruct anyone's view. Anna was not new to being a muse also, in the 60's and 70's Anna was the muse to Karl Lagerfeld. Anna fashion career spans over five decades and she left a mark on the world of fashion. We are going to miss her and the world of fashion will not be the same without this Iconic being.
